The founder and Director of MARYGOLD ACADEMY, Lady Vivian Ada Ameh was born on 23rd July 1966 at UPU in Otukpo LGA of Benue State. She holds a B.Sc degree in Business Education from University of Calabar in 1997. She bagged an M.Ed degree in Management and Planning from Imo State Universirty in 2014.
She attended several educational conferences and workshops. Her working experience spans Radio Benue, Makurdi, Alscon Staff School, Ikot Abasi, Akwa Ibom State, Dominican Basic College, Izuoma, Oyigbo, Rivers State where she nurtured the school from infancy as Principal from 2012 to 2017. She was later promoted to the position of Director due to her dedication and hard work.
Lady Vivian Ada Ameh is a member of Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria. The dream of Lady Vivian Ada Ameh who has a deep love and the passion to see children grow and develop in all ramifications culminated in the establishment of MARYGOLD ACADEMY in 2017.
The school which was established as an environment for building academic excellence in our children commenced operation on a temporary site in March 2017 with a total of 97 pupils, comprising Crèche, Pre-Nursery, Nursery 1 – 3, and Basic 1 – 5. From this humble start, the school continues to grow in leaps and bounds.
MARYGOLD ACADEMY commenced Junior and Senior Secondary classes when it relocated to her expansive and serene permanent site at Afam VI Power Station Road, Okoloma-Afam, Oyigbo LGA of Rivers State two years later. Pupil and student enrollment have increased significantly with over 30 qualified teaching and non-teaching staff, delivering first class standard education. and moral uprightness.
MARYGOLD ACADEMY has proudly graduated sets of Senior Secondary School Students with a 100% credit pass in West African Examination Council (WAEC) and National Examination Council (NECO) examinations. The products of the school are already in some of the best Universities in Nigeria and Overseas.
The school facilities are of international standard, with Science laboratories, Skill Acquisition Centre, Information and Communication Technology Centre with multi-media equipment, school library, amongst others are deployed for effective teaching and learning and acquisition of various skills and innovation by our pupils and students.
The school has a Board of Directors who makes routine policy decisions for effective, efficient learning and teaching and governance system in the school.
MARYGOLD ACADEMY is registered with Corporate Affairs Commission and also approved by Rivers State Government.

MARYGOLD ACADEMY is a co-educational day school, founded in March, 2017. Our environment is exceptionally conducive for teaching and learning as the school is a purpose-built educational structure situated in a quiet, serene environment.
We are blessed with state-of-art facilities; science laboratories, computer/ICT suite with multi-media equipment, well stocked library, skill acquisition centre, large and conducive classrooms, well-equipped mini-clinic with trained medical personnel, potable water supply through borehole, stand by generating set for uninterrupted power supply, recreational and athletic resource materials and skillful development in music and creative arts.
The members of staff are well trained, experienced, and motivated specialists in their various fields. We are at advance stage of preparation for boarding house which would be termed a “home-away-from-home” where we would provide a safe and stimulating opportunity to further develop the students’ academic, moral, physical, social and spiritual needs and prepare them for the challenges of the larger society.
After thorough assessments and interviews, students are selectively admitted into appropriate classes in that academic session. These are students who are enthusiastic and who will make the most of the unique opportunity offered at MARYGOLD ACADEMY; where we nurture and encourage God’s gifts in them. Our students sit for the National Common Entrance Examination, JSSCE/BECE, WASSCE, and NECO and have consistently passed at 100% credit level.
